detailSally Havlis Artist Statement: I make small monochromatic paintings on canvas or wood and employ them as units in composed combinations. Textured applications of paint extend from the face of each part and onto its edges. This directs attention to the sides of the small rectangular blocks and emphasizes their objectness. Any arrangement of these pieces represents only one fixed relationship out of many possible configurations.
